Let’s explore some of the top players to watch out for as Delhi brings us premium T20 cricket action.
Vaibhav Kandpal – North Delhi Strikers
The Delhi U23s has seen Vaibhav Kandpal’s potential skyrocket in recent years. His outing at the Col CK Nayudu Trophy was good by several standards with 336 runs recorded in just five games. He also made his Delhi state cricket team debut in 2022 SMAT and missed just one game throughout the tournament.
Fans will hope Vaibhav gets better in the DPL T20 and restarts his journey to the Delhi domestic team.
Mayank Rawat – East Delhi Riders
Delhi has seen some impressive talent in recent seasons, and Mayank Rawat is one of their top performers. The Delhi all-rounder performed as expected in the 2023 Col CK Nayudu tourney with several eye-catching outings. He smashed a decent 372 runs and picked 19 wickets in 6 games throughout the tournament. Fans will hope he brings his A-game throughout the DPL T20.
Money Grewal – Central Delhi Kings
Few young Delhi pacers can match the talent of Money Grewal right now. His skillset ranks him highly among young domestic pacers in the Delhi state lineup. Grewal has been phenomenal of late, with his eye-catching performances earning him several recognitions. He secured 22 wickets in 7 innings at the 2024 Col CK Nayudu Trophy and is one to watch this season.
Himmat Singh – East Delhi Riders
The Delhi domestic team has relied on Himmat Singh’s performances since 2018. He has become a capable middle-order batter with 700+ runs under his belt for the domestic Delhi side. He hasn’t had a great encounter in recent editions of the Syed Mushtaq T20 and similar competitions.
Singh is currently 27 years old and is one of the experienced cricketers to watch out for during the Delhi Premier League T20.
Suyash Sharma – North Delhi Strikers
Few cricketers get to pick 10 wickets in 11 matches, but Sharma has been able to achieve that feat. The cricketer managed to perform at an impressive level for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2023. He also has a decent record in domestic circuits and boasts high wicket-taking capabilities.
Anuj Rawat – East Delhi Riders
The last two years in T20s have not been great for Anuj Rawat, but the player is one to look out for this season. His time as a cricketer in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lineup produced 318 runs across 20 innings (21.2 av.). His outing on the domestic front for Delhi hasn’t been any different with 240 runs after 12 innings (20 av.).
Anuj will hope to seize the Delhi T20 as a great opportunity to bounce back from low-scoring performances.
Arpit Rana – Purani Dilli 6
The 2024 Col CK Nayudu Trophy gave Arpit Rana enough opportunities to showcase his potential. The cricketer shone in the domestic circuit as a southpaw, smashing an impressive 336 runs throughout the event. His first season at the Delhi Premier League T20 presents another opportunity to shine on the local cricket stage once more.
Yash Dhull – Central Delhi Kings
The Central Delhi Kings youngster has been much of a revelation since 2022. He was the national team skipper for India at their triumphant 2022 U-19 World Cup. His rise since that world-beating team performance has been phenomenal.
Dhull has made his domestic cricket debut for Delhi with an impressive century in his initial innings. He has also held the state team captaincy at such a young age. Another milestone in his career was his inclusion in the Delhi Capitals squad at IPL 2023 and IPL 2024.
Fans will expect sustained top-level performances from this prodigy as he aims to build a strong cricket career.
Ayush Doseja – West Delhi Lions
2024 has been a great year for Ayush Doseja. He is a player to watch out for at the DPL T20 with his impressive performances in recent outings.
