Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Yash Dayal filed a writ petition to quash an FIR filed against him. His appeal to the Allahabad High Court was granted, as the court issued a stay of execution on an arrest order for the cricketer.
A woman is at the centre of this controversy after she approached the courts to allege that Dayal sexually exploited her. The accuser alleges that Dayal was in a sexual relationship with her for several years and hoodwinked her through a promise to marry. The court gave further directions against any acts of coercion against Dayal until the next hearing on this matter.
When Was the FIR Against Dayal Registered?
Dayal’s accuser filed an FIR against him on July 6, 2025. The Indirapuram Police station, Ghaziabad District accepted this report under Section 69 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
Section 69 of the BNS 2023 covers potential charges for obtaining sexual intercourse through deceptive means.
Why Did Dayal’s Accuser Approach the Courts Now?
The woman now believes Dayal deceived her into remaining in the relationship after several years. She alleges that the cricketer kept postponing discussions on potential marriage plans whenever the matter was up for discussion. Another accusation from her claims the cricket star was heavily involved with other women.
She also claims attempts at suicide after Dayal allegedly reneged on his promise to marry. However, choosing to take your life after receiving a failed promise seems too extreme to be true. Opting to commit suicide reeks of desperation, and this may have informed the High Court’s decision.
Did the Accuser File an Earlier Complaint According to Reports?
Dayal’s accuser first filed an online complaint against the cricketer before opting to hand in an FIR to the police. Her first complaint came on June 21, 2025 when she submitted an electronic complaint through the online grievance platform (IGRS) to relevant authorities.
Dayal’s Family Gave Me False Assurances – Accuser Says
The lady doubled down on her accusations against Dayal by involving his family members. She claims the cricketer’s family assured her she would become their sister-in-law after entering into a relationship with Dayal. The cricketer’s accuser also claims Dayal’s arrangement of a family visit was an indication that he was serious with her:
“He repeatedly made physical relations with me by falsely promising marriage and introduced me to his family, who assured that I would be their daughter-in-law. I maintained the relationship with complete honesty and dedication,” she reportedly said.
Dayal caused me “mental pain”
The accuser went on to claim Dayal caused her severe mental pain that nearly triggered her demise via suicide:
“I tried to end my life many times because I couldn’t get out of the mental pain, and he and his family kept giving me false assurances. His relationship with other women caused me deep mental trauma and broke me down,” the accuser alleged.
You Can’t Be Fooled for 5 Years – High Court Remark Says
An oral remark from the court’s bench suggests that it is impossible to be under sexual exploitation without knowledge for 5 years. A live cast of the ruling appeared to reveal a presiding judge make the following remark:
“You could have been fooled for 1 day, 2 day 3 day…but 5 years…you are entering into a relationship for 5 years…one can’t be fooled for 5 years,” the report said.
Is There Any Truth Behind the Accusations Against Dayal?
It is difficult to say if Dayal promised to marry his accuser after the reported relationship lasting several years. Knowing if her allegations were made up solely to extract significant financial compensation from Dayal is also a challenge at the moment.
Is Dayal’s Accuser Lying?
The accuser seems to have several points to hold onto while attempting to present her case; however, there could be ulterior motives behind her decision. For example, she alleges that the cricketer had sexual relations with her on the promise of marriage. It could suggest that her intentions were to marry into the family of a popular cricketer during his prime years.

Dayal filed a counter-complaint against his accuser and has repeatedly denied being deceptive at any point during their sexual relationship. The cricketer made shocking allegations against his former sexual partner shortly after the exploitation case gained wider public attention.
