IPL 2026: What is a RAPP Sheet, and Why Do All Franchises Need It?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Mega Auction held on December 16, 2025 in Abu Dhabi. Franchises from the league dominated headlines with several record bids for top talent to build their squads ahead of the competition’s 19th season. However, squads can still change before or during the IPL season due to unforeseen circumstances.

Player injuries or withdrawals could force some key talent out of IPL franchises at any time during a league season. Hence, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) maintains a RAPP Sheet to help franchises prepare for such sudden events.

What is a RAPP Sheet?

A Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) Sheet is a register of all unsold talent after an IPL auction. The BCCI maintains this document to ensure franchises get to make strategic squad chances where necessary at post-auction periods.

Does the BCCI Keep RAPP Sheets or Share to Franchises?

The BCCI hands duplicate copies of their RAPP sheets to all participating franchises in an IPL season. Franchises view this document as a replacement reservoir that allows swift squad acquisitions where necessary. However, teams must meet strict criteria before enlisting a RAPP Sheet player after an auction.

What Criteria Must a Player Satisfy to Feature in an IPL RAPP Sheet?

A player must satisfy the following to feature in an IPL RAPP Sheet according to current regulations:

• The player must have an official registration for the IPL auction.
• A RAPP-eligible cricketer must not have withdrawn from the auction process at any time.

All players who go unsold during public bidding rounds at IPL auctions immediately enter the RAPP Sheet. Franchises can then select players from this pool for injury replacements during IPL seasons. The sheet also gives teams enough options to fill vacant spots if a signed player withdraws mid-season from his contract.

How Many Players are on the IPL 2026 RAPP Sheet?

The IPL 2026 RAPP Sheet has 1,307 cricketers on its roster as of February 11, 2026. Such a huge list of unsold talent clearly shows why franchises seek top talent from a massive pool of professional players.

How Many Players are Capped or Indians in the 2026 RAPP Sheet?

Current statistics show that over 300 players are either capped internationals for their countries or Indian cricketers. The other 900 cricketers on this list are mostly uncapped domestic players.

Are There Any RAPP Sheet Restrictions?

The BCCI mandates all franchises to sign players from the RAPP Sheet within a specific window. Teams can sign players from this list until their 12th league game of the season. Such restrictions prevent teams from making strategic signings ahead of playoffs that could translate to an unfair advantage.
