Vaibhav’s Father Narrates Important Phases in His Development as a Player
Sanjiv Suryavanshi is a major character in the development of his son Vaibhav into an IPL record-breaker. The youngster is yet to take on experienced bowlers at franchise level, but Sanjiv believes his son can deliver the goods if called on:
“Rajasthan Royals had called him for trials in Nagpur. Vikram Rathor sir (batting coach) gave a match situation where he had to score 17 in an over. He hit three sixes. At the trials, he smashed eight 6s and four 4s,” his father said.
Sanjiv Responds to Vaibhav’s Age Falsification Rumours
Some rumour mongers reported that Vaibhav may be taking up a false age to boost his chances of a longer cricket career. However, the cricketer’s father maintains his son has no false information in the public domain. He is also open to an age test if doubters continue alleging his son could be older:
“When he was 8 and half years old he first appeared for a BCCI bone test. He has already played India U-19. We don’t fear anyone. He can again undergo age test.”
Vaibhav’s father concluded with details about how he invested in his son’s future to become the very best in coming years:
“I may not have played at professional level but I’ve seen enough to understand what is required. I never let him play with any [soft] ball because I wanted him to play professional cricket.”
Vaibhav’s First Coach Elated Over the Youngster’s IPL Contract
Former Ranji Trophy cricketer Brajesh Kumar Jha gets the credit for Vaibhav’s early development as a player. The coach is delighted with his student’s progress and believes his ascension to IPL fame is a dream turned reality:
“When a player from a small district like Samastipur, who would play here with all these young boys, makes it to the IPL, where he will get a chance to share the field or dressing room with greats of the game like Virat Kohli or Rahul Dravid, it’s a dream, not just for that cricketer but a coach like me too,” coach Jha said.
He also commented on the prospect Vaibhav now has as an IPL player. Jha confesses he had a dream to feature in IPL cricket but never got the chance before his career ended:
“You can’t explain how it feels to see him reach that level. It’s the dream I too had growing up but couldn’t fulfil,” the coach concluded.
Rahul Dravid Hails Vaibhav’s Talent
Former Team India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid currently manages the RR side at IPL 2025. He believes Vaibhav has the potential to deliver and believes RR’s environment is perfect to see him grow into a reliable professional:
“He has some really good skills, so we thought it might be a good environment for him to grow in. He came to our trials and we were really happy with what we saw,” coach Dravid said.
Bihar Cricket Association Applauds Suryavanshi’s IPL Selection
