The young Pakistani pacer is gearing up for his comeback in PSL 2024 after undergoing surgery in the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, Wahab Riaz explains Naseem’s shoulder injury in the Asia Cup 2023:

“ He experienced a severe shoulder injury in the September 2023 Asia Cup tournament and was unable to continue for the reserve day. After the incident, Naseem went to the United Kingdom to undergo shoulder surgery.

Following the successful surgery, Naseem stayed in the United Kingdom for two months. Also, PCB was able to handle his medical expenses and received the best care from the certified medical staff”.

Wahab Riaz About Naseem Shah: Overall Updates and Important Facts

Due to a shoulder injury, Naseem Shah wasn’t available on the reserve day of the Asia Cup 2023 match against India.

Consequently, Naseem Shah had to miss out on the 2023 World Cup where Pakistan failed to qualify for the knockouts. Naseem’s absence from the tournament was a big blow for the Pakistan Cricket Team.

Hasan Ali, the young cricketer was the replacement of Naseem Shah during the tournament. But, Hasan Ali couldn’t deliver a promising performance and justify Naseem’s replacement.

Earlier, Pakistan wicketkeeper cum batsman Moin Khan opened on Naseem’s injury stating that the young pacer was facing this issue.

However, the medical team ignored Naseem’s constant complaint for three to four months.

Moin Khan stressed that the medical team should have considered and taken proper care of a player’s problem. It is a fact that any player wouldn’t wish to get dropped ahead of a grand tournament.

A long injury has forced Naseem to stay out of a maximum number of international matches. As a result, it would be a formidable challenge for Pakistan’s bowling unit under Naseem’s absence in the upcoming test series against Australia starting from 14th December 2023.

The HBL PSL draft 2024 takes place at National Cricket Academy, Lahore on 13th December 2023 (Wednesday). However, the franchises will finalize the retention and trade of players after the conclusion of the National T20 tournament
